2 Year Old Boy Killed in Road Rage Collision

A tragedy unfolded today in Harris County when a car was struck by an enraged Houston-area driver who was trying to force his wife off the road.  The road rage incident left a 2-year-old boy dead.

According to Harris County sheriff’s officials, the couple had argued Sunday and they were in separate vehicles in Baytown when the husband attempted to use his pickup truck to stop his wife’s car.  Road rage is defined as aggressive or angry behavior by a driver of an automobile or other motor vehicle toward another motorist.

The pickup swerved into oncoming traffic, striking head-on a car driven by Tania M. Vercher of Baytown, who was killed along with Ms. Vercher’s son, two-year-old Alejandro “AJ” Vercher.  Although the young boy initial survived the collision, he was rushed to the hospital in critical conditions and he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Sheriff’s officials say charges against the pickup driver are pending following the results of toxicology tests on his blood.
