Central Texas Car Crash Leaves Two Dead and Two Injured

On Saturday, October 12, a car crash occurred east of Waco, TX on U.S. Highway 84. Virginia Olivarez, 61 from Mexia and her mother 85 year old Mary Jordan of Buffalo were driving a Hyundai that was hit by an oncoming Ford Taurus. Authorities believe the Taurus had drifted into the path of the Hyundai due to wet pavement. Both Virginia and her mother Mary were killed in the accident. Both the driver of the Taurus and their passenger were hospitalized. According to D.L. Wilson, a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety, no charges had been filed.

Something as uncontrollable as the weather can cause a horrific fatal car accident. It doesn’t technically have to be anyone’s fault for an accident to occur. In slick conditions after rain or snow, accidents are more likely to happen to even the most experienced of drivers. This doesn’t always mean there won’t be any repercussions from a crash resulting from bad weather. There is always the potential for a lawsuit in the aftermath of a car accident.
