Early on the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 21 year old Nicole Moser crashed into a police car that was transporting public intoxication suspect Caroline Nicolai.  Nicolai had not been properly secured with a seat belt, and was thrown from the car.  Nicolai later died at the hospital.

Nicole Moser is now being charged with intoxication manslaughter.  She admitted to drinking and driving.  She ran a red light on Chartres Street at 3:35 am, crashing into Officer Regina Gonzales’ police car.  The officer sustained minor injuries as well.

In addition to the arrest of Moser, the department is also investigating the fact that the suspect in the back of the police car was not properly secured, which is a department violation.
